VBS Overview (subject to change) This summer, bring your kids to our exciting summer bible school program from July 11- 15. This year’s VBS transports young minds into an exciting beach party with cool surfin' tunes, amazing sea creatures and fun sand toys where they'll dig into the Bible and meet Jesus through skits, outdoor and indoor games, stories, music, beach snacks, and crafts. Children love to learn when they are active with their hands and bodies. Learning the Bible then becomes a memorable experience, which opens their hearts and their minds to The One Truth: JESUS! Contact: Layla Pretzlaff 780-973-3316 Dates: July 11 – 15 Times: Mon. – Thurs. from 9:00 - 12:00pm; Friday from 9:00 - 2:00pm Fee: $20 per child - IMPORTANT NOTE: free spots are available. All families are welcome and invited into our church. Seashore Show: Friday July 15 at 12:00pm - Family and friends are invited! A hot dog lunch will be served and then the students will perform a musical skit to celebrate the whole event. Splash tickets: This is a special activity that encourages students to participate in the bible study. Students earn splash tickets by participating in Bible discussions and answering questions, memorizing bible verses and also demonstrating Christian values through action. (E.g. A student gives up the swing for another; offers to help a student or staff member; etc.) Tickets are redeemed after the performance and the students have the opportunity to soak the teachers. This is a fun reminder to “live wet” and remember our Baptism. What the students said about Son Rock Kids Camp VBS: “I really liked the splash tickets because for every bible verse I learned I got to splash my teacher with water.” – Nathaniel – 9 yrs “It’s awesome because our classroom is outside with a tent and everything!” – Cody, 11 yrs. “My teacher was nice and she helped me make a special frame that showed all my new friends, and a fishing hat.” – Kohl, 5 yrs. “My favourite part was the singing and the music – oh yeah and the CD we got to keep.” – Khari , 6 years “I loved the crafts the best; it was fun helping the kids… I wanted to sit down and make all the crafts too!”
